You say you are like Jesus, but are you?

When you walk or drive down the street, do you see someone in need, and are blessed to be able to help them, but you just pass them by, and you just don't?  If it were you, how would you feel if you were hungry, thirsty, or in need, if everyone just kept passing you by?

God loves a cheerful giver, it is written.  Do you know that every time you pass up a chance to give you miss the joy that you feel when you have helped someone, not to boast or be proud, but that really good feeling deep in your heart?  Jesus fed a multitude, will you feed just one?

Let me share a story with you from the bible:

Matthew 25:31-40

King James Version (KJV)

31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:

33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

Acts 20:35

In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’

"There will always be poor people in the land. Therefore I command you to be openhanded toward your brothers and toward the poor and needy in your land." Deuteronomy 15:11
Who cares about the poor? God, for one. And he's pretty serious about it.
The passage from Deuteronomy is just one of many bold declarations of God's concern for the poor found throughout both the Old and New Testaments. And when God is that serious about something, then those of us who claim to follow him need to take it pretty seriously too. So, for Christians, helping the poor isn't optional, it's who we are.
"If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?" 1 John 3:17
Christians are confronted with people in absolute poverty, helpless people on the edge of life and death. And charity is the obvious response, the proper response. To withhold charity from a person in desperate need is not pleasing to God, and it is in no way being like Jesus.  Do not give just to give, do not give for show, do not give if your heart is not truly in it, give when you have the love like Jesus, because it makes you happy to give, because it  is the will of God. If you are a true Christian, this should and will  come easily.
Outreach John 3:16 is holding and Outreach to help the homeless and the needy on December 21 2013.  Are you going to have that heart that is needed to help?  Let the love in you lead you to be a help to just one person this Winter of a blanket, gloves and hats, information on the website below.  Thanks in Advance!

We are fulfilling the will of God...

We are preparing for Our next Outreach for Outreach Hope John 3:16.  We will be providing clothes, food, bibles and tracts, Blankets, Coats, Book bags.   We will witness the goodness of the Lord, pray for all that wishes prayer and bring as many to Christ that are willing.  God be with us on this mission.

To be able to take the instructions from God and to put them into action is truly a blessing to us.   To provide needed items that we take so lightly to others that are in need.  There is no greater feeling that I personally have then being a help to someone.  Not out of works to go to Heaven, not for show, but mainly because I know what it is like to go without, I know the issue of homelessness, not living on the streets, but moving from place to place, sleeping on floors, and in a recliner.  Not having my own.  I was one of the lucky ones, God did not let me stay in that position long.  But some are not as fortunate, and I want to be a help to whom I can.

God gave us instructions in his words, as to what we are to do.  But if we have the love of God in our hearts it should come easily and naturally.

Proverbs 11:25 A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.

Proverbs 19:17 He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward him for what he has done.
2 Corinthians 9:6 But this I say, He which sows sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which sows bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

1 John 3:17 But if someone who is supposed to be a Christian has money enough to live well, and sees a brother in need, and won't help him--how can God's love be within him ?
1 John 3:18 Little children, let us stop just saying we love people; let us really love them, and show it by our actions.
John 3:19 Then we will know for sure, by our actions, that we are on God's side, and our consciences will be clear, even when we stand before the Lord.

Am I my brother's keeper?  Yes I am.  We should Bear with each other's circumstances; help each other in this divine life. The sense is, When our brother is out of food, homeless, nowhere to turn this constitutes a heavy burden. We should aid each other in regard to these circumstances, and help one another to overcome them.  How can I (and I can talk about me) with all consciousness eat at my table and lie in my bed warm, knowing that there are others out there that has no food to eat or warm bed to sleep in without helping at least some of them?

See in your hearts and help us help others.  We do not ask for monetary gifts, but for gifts of items to help the less fortunate.  If you are willing to help we ask that you go to the website and see the items needed and help us by sending items to the address on the website.  God bless you and thank you in advance for caring.  We love you all!  http://www.wix.com/argreene/outreachhopejohn316#!

It is about that Time again, for Giving.

We are in the process of collecting items for Outreach Summer 2012.  Because of the unusally hot weather we have been having. We have decided to give needed items to help our brothers and sisters that unfortunately has no dwellings.  We will be handing out Flip Flops, Shades, hats, Summer clothing,  shoes, and non-perishable foods.

You drive to the mall and wander from shop to shop. You turn on your computer and surf aimlessly. Nothing. No answers, no inspiration. If you've ever found yourself searching for that perfect gift for a person who has everything, why not take a moment to consider all the people who need so much?

God offers you a life of great joy and a surprising route to take you there. Wherever you are at this moment, God invites you to embark on an adventure ...
Begin a journey of a lifetime—a Journey of Generosity.
"A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed."
Proverbs 11:25-28 (New International Version)

Your journey of generosity is an adventure measured not in miles, but in personal transformation and growth. Sometimes smooth sailing, sometimes uncharted waters, but always a course that deepens your faith and relationship with God.
The message is not new, it is rooted in the timeless story told in scripture and lived out today ...
Explore and experience the generous life.

" ... But just as you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in your love for us—see that you also excel in this grace of giving ... "
2 Corinthians 8:7, 13-14 (New International Version)

God is good!

Well my friends I must tell you that we are really happy at the turn out of the items needed for Outreach "Hope" John 3:16's Winter Outreach.  God is so good he has truly blessed up to be able to serve many of our brothers and sisters that are homeless and needy.

Let me show how God has blessed us:

God will do over and above all we expect.  He is a way maker and he loves the poor, needy and lonely at hearts.   This will be our last Outreach of the year.  We will hold another in the Spring of 2012.  We will continue Outreach all year helping whom we can, but not at this magnitude.  You may not hear a lot from us, because as we go through the year it is not announcing events.  We plan to do a lot of one on one ministering and will not let our left hand know what our right hand is doing.  Outreach is to be shared because of donations, and we want all that donate to see where their donations go, and to try to be a light for others to follow.

We will continue to show the love that God has bestowed in our hearts with whom every may be in need, no matter race, religion or creed, for Father God said love even our enemies.  We will continue to spread the word of God, and try to bring others to him through The Christ Jesus.

"He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the alien, giving him food and clothing." Deuteronomy 10:18

Outreach Hope John 3:16's Winter Outreach on the way!

Just want to give honor to Father God, for all that he has provided for Outreach "Hope" John 3:16's Winter Outreach.  I did not have a doubt that he would not.  It is his will for us to help those that are less fortunate, and we have to have him in the midst of it or it will not work.   Here are some pictures of items he blessed us with, to be a blessing to the less fortunate.

Proverbs 3:27

Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it

Homeless - A Poem

Homelessness is a major problem across the world. We cannot afford to judge people on the streets if we have not had the misfortune to walk in their shoes.

She huddled in the bus shelter, chilled to the bone So far away from home and completely alone
The people in their houses so warm and dry That's when it all seemed so clear and she started to cry.

Life can throw some pretty low blows, On a wet face a tear never shows Lonely for some attention and love Sometimes asking why? From God up above.

Dwellings across the street warm and inviting, The cold in her ungloved hands now biting She guessed it must be dinner time. Through the double glazing it looked like a happy mime Inside a famlly sitting down, Mum kissing children, Dad acting the clown
So desperate for a hot bath and a filling meal.  Lost for a moment in a dream of how good that would feel For her, damp feet had lost all their feeling.
Thoughts of a warm bed for one night so appealing Do the people in those homes appreciate what they've got?  They don't understand her plight, so probably not. A life on the street could throw you some knocks Dark, sinister strangers, made your heart wear a lock.

No one knew how her sodden clothes felt.  A day with overcast skies from where freezing rain pelts
She couldn't go back to her childhood home That's where danger, abuse and violence still roam.

The homes opposite with curtains still open wide Made her think of better days when she still had some pride.  Now to beg for change was a daily chore.  The people out shopping had so much more.

Some swore and said words she could not repeat.  Others hurried by or crossed the street.  The ones with eyes that looked straight through, Unknowingly inflicted a pain only she knew.  Maybe they were embarassed with feelings unclear But to become invisible was her greatest fear.  Tonight insulated with newspapers salvaged from a bin, She hopes for the better life tomorrow might bring

Now she bravely wipes away tears Closes her eyes and silences fears Somehow with returning inner strength She softly cajoles herself at some length.  This homeless person on this rainy night must cope As for her there's not the luxury of giving up hope.

Winter Outreach

We are in the process of getting items for Winter Outreach to distribute, blankets, clothes, food, and hygiene products to the homeless and the needy.  It is going slow, but we are believing that God will supply.  So far we  have fifty blankets, and Edgewood  Baptist church is making blankets.

We believe that God loves a cheerful giver, and it gives us pleasure in helping those that are less fortunate then we are.  If everyone had the heart to give on a regular basis, a lot of brothers and sister that live in the streets, or who are needy would benefit, no we will not enable them by providing their needs without telling them how they can overcome with Jesus, and pray that it pierces hearts to seek him.  We want to tell all those without hope, that God can fix any problem if they have faith, belief and trust, and give them hope that he can get them off the street, or he can make provisions.

It is not just the governments job to help out our brothers and sisters, God has commanded to all that are his true Christians this: "There will always be poor people in the land. Therefore I command you to be openhanded toward your brothers and toward the poor and needy in your land." Deuteronomy 15:11.  He did not ask, he did not suggest, he commands this.

God does not want us to be tight fisted and hard hearted, he want us to have love and compassion for everyone, and be a help to someone in need. "If there is a poor man among your brothers in any of the towns of the land that the LORD your God is giving you, do not be hardhearted or tightfisted toward your poor brother." Deuteronomy 15:7

This is just the beginning of Outreach.  I pray that one day we will be able to help others, in different cities, states and countries.   God has a plan for us all, and I guarantee you giving is in it.  Be it the word, material things, or just love and compassion or prayers.  I thank God, he has given us the opportunity to truly be servants to others and to him.
